Building Houses
Building Hope

“I and my wife are both disabled which makes our life even harder. Every season, we used to beg and ask other people to help us to assemble our mobile ger, because none of us is able to lift even 10kg. Today, my life is very different. Now I have my own house and land.”

“Till we have a house, we used to live in a ger. Once I learned about Habitat and it’s project, I felt a new chance in my heart and then I decided to participate in this project. I didn’t know that my family’s economical situation is suitable to qualification of Habitat. But Habitat gave to me a positive answer. Now, me and my wife are very glad to Habitat for the new house. In last summer, my son was born. I became a father when I built the house. that was unforgettable event in my life. Thank you Habitat.”

“We helped to build three houses with wonderful Habitat families and the staff of the Darkhan project. We measured, we hammered, we plastered, we painted, we sawed, we saw. We lent, we borrowed, we laughed, we listened, we heard, we learned. We understood whether it was in English or in sign language. We understand.”

Kathryn Mutz, leader of the Global volunteer team from the U.S.A hosted by Darkhan Program Area

“We gathered in an almost-finished home(the family consists of an older woman, her son who is a policeman, and her daughter who is a secondary school teacher and the daughter’s children) for the final speeches, presentations, and goodbyes. It was an emotional time; it’s amazing to me how quickly bonds of friendship can be formed.”
