Housing needs

In Darkhan, many families live in sub standard houses or in rented houses. These families have low incomes and need proper housing. The cost of apartment are also high leading to a high demand of many families who have low incomes to decent housing.

Local government organizations, local churches, World vision Mongolia, Vision fund Mongolia, Community habitat finance, Norwegian Lutheran Mission.

House design used

Darkhan has an approved house design that is approved by local authority. It is a 36 square meter house built with concrete blocks, wood and metal roof sheets. The house has three windows and a door. Styrofoam is used for house insulation and a stove and chimney is built in house for both purposes of heating and keeping the house warm in winter and cooking. The house has a kitchen, a living room and a small bedroom.

Typical volunteer task

All types of work to build house such as brick laying, painting, digging, mixing cement carrying blocks and fixing wall paper..
